A large pod of dolphins were driven in from their home in the ocean towards the cove, Taiji. The pod seperated and tried constantly to flee the molesters. Their efforts fell flat and were netted just outside the harbour. This is how they manhandle a dolphin after going through the stress of being seperated from its family pod. This one was dumped back out to sea….

Taiji - Activists say that a pod of bottlenose dolphins fought for six hours to escape being captured before Taiji fishermen – with the help of the Japanese Coast Guard, wrestled the exhausted dolphins into submission.
“In 3 years of being here I have never seen the likes of this,” wrote animal activist Martyn Stewart on his Facebook page. Stewart, a sound recordist, is in Taiji to document the dolphin drives that run from Sept. to March every year in the Wakayama Prefecture of Japan.

“Cove Guardians stood in rain to capture footage of dolphin trainers and dolphin killers working together. Despite extreme weather conditions four small skiffs entered the cove at sunrise. The killers managed to corral the pod into the shallow waters of the cove while trainers selected three pilot whales for captivity. Two juveniles and possibly a female of the pod. The process is quite simple. Once selected, rest of pod in netted away from captive whales. They await their fate. Today the captive whales were taken in slings via skiffs to the Taiji harbor captive pens and the remaining pod will be held again until tomorrow morning and at that time the murder will begin.”

I actually just have to read this sort of thing and I feel so angry. Vile. Vile. Vile.
